Why book your rental in Les Menuires as early as autumn?

Each year, it’s the same story: you spot the perfect resort, you wait for the snow… and when the time finally comes to book, the best apartments are already gone. Yet booking early is much more than a matter of organisation — it’s a real strategic choice, especially in Les Menuires, where demand surges as early as mid-November.

An early enthusiasm for a highly sought-after resort

Les Menuires is no longer the “affordable little sister” of Val Thorens. At 1,850 metres of altitude, the resort has attracted a wider audience by combining guaranteed snow, direct access to the 3 Vallées ski area and quality accommodation.
What we’ve seen over the past three years is an upgrade in rental standards,” explains Céline, advisor at Agence des Alpes. “Holidaymakers are looking for modern, well-located apartments that are often already booked from one season to the next.

As a result, from October onwards, most ski-in/ski-out residences and family chalets are already fully booked for the festive season. Waiting until November often means giving up on the most coveted accommodations.

Booking early, a real way to save money

The other good reason to book early is, of course, the price. The agency’s internal data confirms it: rates rise by 20 to 35% between October and December, depending on the week.
A studio for four people listed at €800 per week in autumn can easily reach €1,050 in December, or even €1,400 during the Christmas holidays.
Owners adjust their prices as the occupancy rate increases. It’s exactly like plane tickets,” says Céline. “Those who book early almost always get the best conditions.

Beyond the budget, booking early also allows you to choose your accommodation calmly — a rare luxury when last-minute requests start flooding in.

Choosing before others means choosing better

You might think that there is always availability in the mountains. It’s true… but not in the properties everyone wants.
South-facing apartments, chalets with fireplaces, or residences with indoor pools are booked as early as autumn. And families rush for accommodations near ski schools or ski lifts.
Many of our clients book the same week every year. We sometimes see the same families in the same chalet for ten years,” smiles Céline. “It’s often newcomers who end up searching in a panic at the end of November.

Booking early means giving yourself the luxury of choice: orientation, neighbourhood, services — and peace of mind as winter approaches.

Plan ahead to enjoy more

Planning your stay as early as October also simplifies all the logistics that follow. By booking accommodation in advance, you can find cheaper train or plane tickets, book ski lessons, and arrange equipment rental without worrying about stock shortages.
Early planners often benefit from flexible cancellation conditions, now highly sought-after — a welcome safety margin in a context where weather or health conditions can change quickly.

Better one click in October than stress in December

The numbers speak for themselves: in Les Menuires, half of Christmas rentals are already booked before 15 November. And the most sought-after accommodations  chalets with views or premium residences — often disappear as early as October.
So why wait? Autumn is the perfect time to plan, save money and dream about your week on the slopes, without fearing disappointment once winter comes.

Our advice is to book now, especially for Christmas and February,” concludes Céline. “And even if the snow hasn’t fallen yet, the good deals are already melting away.
